Kati Es A Kerek Perec
Kati és a Kerek Perec was a Hungarian pop band that operated between 1975 and 1982, built around the dual role of Katalin Nagy, who served as the group's lead vocalist while also contributing synthesizer and saxophone. Bassist and vocalist Ernő Kiss remained the one constant alongside Nagy across the band's full run, while the surrounding lineup cycled through several configurations. The earliest formation included guitarist and flautist Attila Fábián and drummer Béla Nagy, both active from the founding year through 1977. Subsequent personnel changes brought in drummer Sándor Zámori and guitarist Miklós Patay for the 1977 to 1979 period, followed by Ádám Végvári on vocals, guitar and bass alongside drummer Gyula Bardóczy between 1979 and 1980. The final lineup, active from 1980 until the band's dissolution in 1982, comprised drummer Vince Babarik and guitarist and vocalist Sándor Mikulcza.
The frequency of lineup changes gives the band's catalog a degree of internal variation, as different combinations of players contributed to recordings made at different points in the group's seven-year existence. Nagy's presence on synthesizer, alongside her saxophone work, placed the band within the Hungarian pop idiom while also connecting it to the broader European pop and light rock sounds of the period. The band disbanded in 1982 with no continuation under the name. Collectors with a focus on Hungarian popular music from the late 1970s seek out the group's releases as representative examples of the domestic pop output of the era, with interest centred on original pressings from Hungarian labels active during that period.
