Who we are

East of the Groove (eastofthegroove.com) is a personal collector's archive dedicated to records, artists, labels and collectibles from Eastern Europe and the former Eastern Bloc. It is operated by a private individual based in Spain.

What data we collect and why

We collect personal data in two contexts:

• Enquiry form — when you contact us about an item, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send. This information is used solely to reply to your enquiry and is not used for any other purpose.
• Newsletter — if you subscribe via the footer form, we collect your email address to send you updates about new additions and articles. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site (pages visited, referrer, country, device type). This uses cookies and requires your agreement — you can accept or decline via the banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time using the Cookies link in the footer. We have no user accounts.

• Session cookie — used exclusively for the site administrator to log in to the admin panel. Not set for regular visitors.

We do not use advertising or any other third-party tracking cookies.

Geolocation

To show you the most relevant purchase options, we use your approximate location (country level) to determine whether an item can be shipped to your region via Vinted. This lookup is performed using your IP address and is cached in your browser's session storage — it is not stored on our servers and is discarded when you close your browser tab.

Third-party links

This site contains links to third-party marketplaces including Vinted, eBay, Amazon, and Discogs. Some of these links are affiliate links, meaning we may receive a small commission if you make a purchase after following the link. These third-party sites have their own privacy policies and cookie practices, which we do not control.

How long we keep your data

Enquiry messages are kept for as long as necessary to handle your request, and deleted thereafter. If you would like your enquiry and contact details removed, use our contact form and we will delete them promptly.
